FIA arrests human trafficker from Gujranwala
LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday arrested a human trafficker from Gujranwala involved in the Libyan boat tragedy.
The accused was arrested in Gujranwala and allegedly involved in the Libyan boat incident. He was absconding after the registration of the case.
FIA officials said that the accused had taken 7.1 million to send more than 5 youths to Italy. The persons whom the accused had sent had died in a boat accident.
Earlier, an accident happened to the boat of illegal immigrants from the African country of Mauritania to Spain, as a result of which 50 migrants, including 44 Pakistanis, died.
According to the news agency, the boat with 86 migrants left Mauritania on January 2.
Moroccan authorities said that 66 Pakistanis were on board the boat, 36 people have been rescued in the boat accident.
Earleir, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted a raid Kharadar Gold Market and arrested the accused involved in the illegal currency bFIA usiness (HawalFIA a Hundi).
According to Director FIA Nauman Siddiqui, the FIA Commercial Banking Circle took action in the Kharadar Gold Market on the tip-off of the illegal currency exchange (Hawala Hundi).
According to Nauman Siddiqui, during the operation, foreign currency worth Rs. 4.8 million was recovered from the jeweler’s shop, while the accused Bilal Ahmed, who was involved in buying and selling of foreign currencies, and was arrested.
