ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought a response from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the acquittal pleas of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) founder and Bashra Bibi in the Tosha Khana-2 case.
Justice Raja Inam Minhas of Islamabad High Court heard the acquittal pleas of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana-2 case.
During the hearing, Imran Khan’s lawyer Salman Safdar requested an injunction on the trial of Toshakhana-2 case. On which Justice Raja Inam said that there is no judicial precedent for stalling the criminal proceedings at this point, we will also notify the other party of your request.
Meanwhile, Salman Safdar requested to change the bench and said that Justice Gul Hassan Aurangzeb has heard 5 petitions related to this case, it would be appropriate that this court should also send the acquittal petitions to the same court.
Justice Raja Inam rejected the request of the petitioner’s lawyer to change the bench and said that those were bail applications, it is a separate matter, this court will hear the case, you should argue on the merits of the case.
Imran Khan’s lawyer said that there are orders for two petitions , the trial court should be ordered to stop the hearing. On this the judge said that the indictment has been filed in the trial court, the statements of the witnesses are being made.
Later, the court issued a notice to the FIA and adjourned the hearing till January 28.
