10 Additional Judges of PHC take oath
PESHAWAR: 10 Additional Judges of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) sworn in on Tuesday, after which the number of judges has increased to 23.
Chief Justice PHC Ishtiaq Ibrahim administered oath to new additional judges of the high court.
Justice Tariq Afridi, Justice Abdul Fayyaz, Justice Farah Jamshed, Justice Aamirullah, Justice Sabitullah Khan, Justice Salahuddin, Justice Sadiq Ali, Justice Mudassar Amir, Justice Aurangzeb and Justice Qazi Jawad Ehsan took oath of the office in a ceremony in PHC.
After ten additional judges, the number of judges in the Peshawar High Court has increased to 23.
Earlier, Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has approved the appointment of 10 additional judges to the Peshawar High Court(PHC).
A judicial commission chaired by Chief Justice Pakistan Yahya Afridi was approved the appointment 10 additional judges to the Peshawar High Court.
According to sources, Farah Jamshed, Aamirullah Khan, Mudassar Ameer, Sabit Ullah and Aurangzeb have been approved to appoint Additional Judges.
Despite objections raised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members, including Barrister Gohar, Ali Zafar, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Law Minister, the commission approved the appointments by majority vote.
