KARACHI: A local court of Karachi on Tuesday sent Saher Hassan to jail on judicial remand in connection of drug trafficking.

At the Judicial Complex in Karachi, the accused, Sahir Hassan, heard the drug export case where the Specialized Investigation Unit (SIU) police presented the accused to the court.

During the hearing, the investigating officer said that the investigation from the accused was not completed so the physical remand should be extended for five days while the Saher Hassan lawyer opposed the physical remand of the accused.

After the hearing, the court rejected the request for extension of the physical remand of the SIU investigating officer and sent the accused Sahir Hassan to jail on judicial remand.

The court also summoned the investigating officer at the next hearing.

Earlier, local court of Karachi extended physical remand of Sahir Hassan arrested on drug trafficking.

Sahir Hassan, accused of drug trafficking, was produced before the Judicial Magistrate South Court where police requested extension of the accused’s physical remand.

During the meantime, the investigating officer told the court that investigations into the supply chain from the accused were underway.

The court extended the physical remand of the accused on the request of the investigating officer for a day and ordered the accused to be presented in court again tomorrow.
