
FIA immigration officials offload four passengers at Karachi airport
LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday arrested highly wanted human smuggler involved in the Libyan boat tragedy.
The FIA has arrested a highly wanted human smuggler named Zubair Mahar from Gujarat. The accused Zubair Libya is involved in a boat tragedy, and 8 cases have been registered in Gujarat in 2023.
According to the FIA, the accused’s name is in the list of the most wanted human smugglers. He is also a member of the international gang involved in human trafficking. The Zubair Mahar seized Rs 2.4 million per person from 8 victims of the Libyan boat tragedy.
FIA officials said that Zubair mint a total of Rs 19.2 million from the victims, and sent 8 victims to Libya where he tortured the victims in the safe houses.
The accused tried to send the victims from Libya to Europe by boat, which capsized. It was clear that all the victims were died in the boat tragedy.
Earlier, FIA Gujranwala Zone arrested Yasir Mehmood, a highly wanted Red Book suspect involved in human trafficking, and another Red Book suspect Bashir Ahmed was also arrested two weeks ago.
