National Assembly approves hike in salaries of lawmakers

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly has approved an amendment to increase the salaries and allowances of parliamentarians.

The National Assembly session was presented by Romina Khurshid Alam on the increase in salaries and allowances of the members, which was approved by majority opinion.

Under the amendment bill, the salaries and salaries of the MPs have been equalized to the Federal Secretary, the monthly salary of the MNA and the Senator has been approved to fix 519,000.

Speaking on the occasion, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that you also call Parliament fake and are not serious, the members who do not want to get the extra salary should write.

Law Minister Nazir Tarar also said that members who do not want to get increased salary should inform the Speaker’s Office.

We were also voiced to raise salaries, including the Pakistan People’s Party, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML–N) and the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf, the MPs demanded the salary of the MNA and the Senator for Rs 1 million, but Speaker Ayaz Sadiq rejected the demand.

Before that, the salary of the Member National Assembly used to be 218,000.
