Three cops arrested over kidnapping doctor for ransom in Lahore
LAHORE: The Lahore police arrested three constables for their alleged involvement in a kidnapping of doctor and extortion case in the Model Town area of city.
According to police, the accused personnel have been involved in abducting a doctor and taking Rs 500,000 extortion. On which has been arrested for three personnel.
Deputy Inspector General of Police(DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran said the arrested suspects include Constable Waqas, Nafees and Constable Asif, while raid are being conducted to arrest two accused including Rana Kurabn and Adnan. The arrested accused has been sent for the identification parade.
DIG Operations said that the accused had kidnapped Dr Mukhtar from the house on February 9 and received 500,000 ransom. A departmental action has also been initiated against the arrested personnel.
According to the DIG, more than 330 personnel have been held accountable in 11 months.
Earleir, At least five terrorists were killed in a joint operation by Counter Terrorism Department(CTD) and police in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to police officials, law enforcement agencies (LEA) conducted a joint operation in Mir Kalam Banda area of Karak. Operations were reported on the presence of terrorists in the morning.
Police officials said five terrorists were killed in the operation while no casualties were reported by CTD and police.
