ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested most wanted human smuggler involved in the Libyan boat tragedy.

FIA spokesman said accused was identified as Aamir Hussain, who was arrested in Kurram District.

The spokesman said that the arrested suspect used to send citizens to Europe via sea. The accused was wanted to FIA Kohat in February 2025 boat tragedy.

According to the spokesman, the accused Aamir Hussain collected Rs 3.7 million to send Nusrat Hussain to the affected citizen. The accused tried to send the citizens affected by the collusion of other colleagues to Italy via Libya.

Spokesman FIA said the accused’s associates Munir Hussain and Ahmed Aslam, Shah Faisal and Wajid Ali are running a network from United Arab Emirates, Libya and Italy.

According to the spokesman, the arrested accused Aamir Hussain also received huge sums of money from the other victims of the boat accident and the bank account used by the accused has already been seized. The Interpol is being contacted to arrest other gang suspects from abroad. The crackdown against elements involved in boat tragedy.

It is to be noted that Libya’s February 5 migrant boat capsized , which resulted in the death of 16 Pakistanis.
