KARACHI: The Earthquake tremors have been felt in the federal capital Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and various cities of Punjab.

Earthquake tremors were felt in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chiniot, Chakwal, Islamabad and surrounding areas in Punjab.

Similarly, moderate earthquake struck parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing tremors that were felt in Peshawar and nearby regions.

According to the Seismological Center, the quake registered a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake occurred at 12:31 p.m. and had a depth of 12 kilometers. The epicenter was located approximately 60 kilometers northwest of Rawalpindi.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage, but the tremors caused panic among residents, prompting many to evacuate buildings as a precaution.

Authorities were assessing the situation and had advised the public to remain calm but alert.

According to the earthquake center, the epicenter was 60 km northwest of Rawalpindi.

On the other hand, spokesperson Provincial Disaster Management Authority(PDMA) Punjab said that preliminary reports of the earthquake were received in which earthquake tremors were felt in Rawalpindi, Gujarat, Lahore and other areas of Punjab, including 5.5 on the Richter scale.

The spokesperson said that the administration across Punjab is engaged in checking the buildings, no casualties or financial loss were reported from any area of ​​Punjab, but machinery and staff have been alerted to deal with aftershocks. The earthquake damage can be reported 1129.
