ISLAMABAD: The U.S newspaper has warned that a world heat record could be set in Pakistan in this week.

The Washington Post has reported that this week temperatures in South Asia could a touch record of 50 degrees this week.

The American newspaper has warned that temperatures in central and southern Pakistan could rise up to 50 degrees Celsius.

It is worth noting that in April 2018, the city of Nawabshah in Pakistan recorded a temperature of 50°C — the highest ever recorded in Asia at the time.

On the other hand, a wind and rain alert has been issued in Punjab from today.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) spokesperson, dusty winds and thunderstorms are likely in Rawalpindi, Murre, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Jhelum, and Gujranwala from April 30 to May 04.

Meanwhile, wind and rain have also been forecast in other cities, including Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, and Faisalabad.
