
Heatstroke
KARACHI: Sindh Health Department has successfully treated 675 heatstroke cases from April 14 and May 28.
According to data issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Sindh, out of the total affected, 393 are men, 276 women, and 6 children. Additionally, 60 livestock have died due to the extreme heat conditions.
In the past 48 hours alone, 33 new heatstroke cases have been reported.
The PDMA data showed that Shaheed Benazirabad remains the worst-hit district, with 537 reported cases. Other affected areas include: Khairpur 114 cases, Tando Allahyar 11 cases, Matiari 8 cases, Hyderabad 3 cases and Karachi 1 case.
Due to the ongoing heatwave, heatstroke wards and camps have been established across the province to provide medical assistance.
PDMA Sindh vowed to continue monitor the situation and urges citizens to take preventive measures during extreme weather conditions.
