Pakistani diplomat returns home after expulsion from India

LAHORE: Pakistani diplomatic official Ehsan has returned to the country after being declared persona non grata by Indian authorities.

According to official sources, confirmed that Ehsan arrived in Pakistan yesterday following India’s decision to expel him, citing undisclosed reasons linked to diplomatic protocol.

In a reciprocal move, Indian diplomat Shankar Reddy, along with his family, has also returned to India.

The exchange comes amid heightened diplomatic tensions between the two neighboring countries, reflecting a pattern of tit-for-tat expulsions seen in past incidents.

No official statements have yet been released by the Foreign Ministries of either country regarding the latest developments.

Both diplomatic officials arrived by planes in their respective countries yesterday.

It should be remembered that India had ordered a Pakistani diplomat to leave the country as an unwanted figure, on which Pakistan also issued orders to leave the country as an unwanted personality.
