KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has urged citizens to refrain from dumping sacrificial animal waste in open spaces during Eid-ul-Azha.

In a video message, the mayor stated that a comprehensive strategy has been devised in collaboration with the Solid Waste Management Board to ensure proper disposal of offal. He appealed to the public to cooperate with the municipal authorities in maintaining cleanliness.

“We have established collection points across the city. Small vehicles will collect waste from homes and transport it to garbage transfer stations and then to landfill sites,” said Wahab.

He added that citizens can lodge complaints regarding waste collection by calling helpline 1128. The Solid Waste Management staff will collect the offal within a few hours—free of charge.

Following Eid prayers, citizens are offering animal sacrifices in accordance with the Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi (tradition of Prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him).
