Karachi: The series of new Congo Fever cases continues to rise in the city, causing fear and panic among residents.
According to officials at Jinnah Hospital, a 33-year-old patient was admitted with symptoms including fever and bleeding from the gums and nose. A PCR test confirmed the patient was positive for the Congo Virus.
The patient has been immediately transferred to the hospital’s isolation ward. It is reported that the affected individual is a resident of Bhains Colony and works as a hairdresser.
A spokesperson from the health department stated that since Eid al-Adha, two people in Karachi have succumbed to Congo Fever, increasing concerns about the potential spread of the outbreak.
