PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) has categorically rejected involvement in any attempt to overthrow the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
In a statement, ANP Central Spokesperson Engineer Ihsanullah Khan said the party will not take part in any such move and strongly opposes horse trading.
He added that while some parties are eager to form a joint opposition government in KP, the ANP believes in democratic values and will not support any unconstitutional actions.
The Central Spokesperson further said that Aimal Wali Khan and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met a day ago in which the country’s political issues were discussed but there was no talk about the demolition of the KP government.
Earlier, A speculation grows over the possible ousting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held key meetings with Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi and Awami National Party (ANP) leader and Senator Aimal Wali Khan.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif met Awami National Party President Aimal Wali Khan.
The meeting discussed the overall and political situation of the country. Federal Ministers, Minister of State for Power Division, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs and Assistant Special Affairs were also present on the occasion.
