PESHAWAR: Engineer Zia ur Rehman, the younger brother of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, has accepted the electoral challenge thrown by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
In a video statement, Zia ur Rehman responded directly to the chief minister, stating, “Ali Amin Gandapur, your challenge is accepted. You are not worthy enough for Maulana Fazal ur Rehman to respond himself.”
Addressing Gandapur, he further said, “Before you dare to challenge Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, try facing the son of Mufti Mahmood first.” He also claimed that it was Maulana Fazal ur Rehman who had politically ousted Gandapur’s leader from the seat of power.
Zia ur Rehman added, “If you have the courage, force your brother to resign and contest against me instead.”
Engineer Zia ur Rehman, younger brother of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has said that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s tone and visible discomfort are clear signs that his time in power is coming to an end.
It may be recalled that during a press conference with party leaders in Lahore, Chief Minister Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gundapur had openly challenged Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has publicly challenged Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman to contest elections against his brother in Dera Ismail Khan.
In a bold statement, Gandapur declared, “If Maulana Fazlur Rehman manages to defeat my brother in D.I. Khan, I will resign from the chief minister’s office.”
