KARACHI: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced the establishment of three new major registration centers in the city.
According to NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali, the new centers will be set up in Malir Cantonment, Malir, and Surjani Town. He made the announcement during a media briefing.
He further stated that amendments have been made to national identity laws to ease public difficulties. Certificates of birth, death, marriage, and divorce will now be issued by the respective Union Councils.
The NADRA spokesperson stated that photographs have now been included in the B-Form. The Child Registration Certificate (CRC) for children up to 3 years of age will follow the old format and will not include a photo.
For children above 3 years of age, the CRC will include a photograph and biometric data and will remain valid up to the age of 10. From ages 10 to 18, a new CRC with both photo and biometric verification will be issued.
Syed Shabahat Ali further said that the form made from the form will remain intact, a new CRC has to be built to make a passport, a passport will not be made on the old B form while a separate form will be issued for each child, all the details of the family can be obtained through NADRA’s application.
The spokesperson said that if there is a mistake or shortage in the FRC, it can be corrected, illegally receiving the cards can voluntarily return, there will be no legal action against the volunteer returns, the family registration certificate has been given a legal document.
He said that the FRC will now be acceptable for inheritance matters and important legal matters, the FRC will be in accordance with the various categories of the family, Nadra’s record is completely safe, married women have been given this facility, they can register the name of the father or husband on the identity card.
The spokesman further said that investigations are underway against all employees involved in corruption, including former chairman NADRA as NADRA adopted zero –tolerance against corruption.
