PESHAWAR: Terrorist attacks across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed hundreds of lives and left many injured during the first six months of the year, a police report has disclosed.

According to the report, the victims include police personnel, Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel, khasadars, and civilians.

The report details that terrorist incidents occurred in 15 districts of the province, with the highest number of casualties reported in Bannu, where 181 people were killed or injured, followed by North Waziristan with 155 casualties.

According to the police report, 63 police force personnel were martyred, 84 were injured and 101 civilians were martyred, 292 were injured this year in different terrorist incidents. 22 civilians were martyred in Bannu, Mardan 16, South Waziristan 15, North Waziristan 11.

According to the report, 46 Frontier Constabulary personnel were martyred and 82 were injured in the province, of which 15 FC personnel were martyred in the tribal district of Kurram and 9 FC personnel in North Waziristan.

According to the report, 11 khasadars were martyred and 18 were injured in the terrorist incidents while 21 policemen were martyred in Bannu and 11 policemen in DI Khan in terrorists incidents.

According to the police report, terrorist incidents claimed the lives of several police personnel across various districts: seven in Kohat, six in Peshawar, four in South Waziristan, three in Kurram, and two in Khyber, where an additional three officers were injured.

Out of the 756 terrorism-related cases registered across the province, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) is currently investigating 561 of them, the report further states.
