
Lahore: The Pakistan Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert for the third spell of monsoon rains, forecasting strong winds and widespread downpours across most districts of Punjab from July 11th to July 17th. This monsoon activity is expected to impact various cities and regions, bringing significant rainfall and potential disruptions.
According to a PDMA Punjab spokesperson, areas anticipating rain include Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Wazirabad. Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, and Jhang are also expected to receive rainfall. Furthermore, heavy rains are specifically predicted for Toba Tek Singh, Nankana, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali.
From July 13th to July 17th, other regions such as Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, D.G. Khan, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Lodhran, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Layyah are also expected to experience thunderstorms and rain.
In addition to Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to see thunderstorms. There’s also a risk of landslides in Murree and Galiyat.
