ISLAMABAD: A series of road accidents across the city claimed several lives within the past 24 hours, police and rescue officials confirmed.

Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, citing negligence, over-speeding and heavy traffic as key factors behind the fatal crashes.

Police confirmed that a young man and a female TikToker lost their lives after being hit by a trailer on Mai Kolachi Road while returning from Sea View.

In a separate incident, another motorcyclist was killed after his bike was struck by a trailer on the Netty Jetty flyover.

Separately, two pedestrians a young girl and another woman died after being hit by a speeding car near the Gulistan-e-Jauhar underpass. In Ahsanabad, another man was crushed to death under the wheels of a truck.

Another heartbreaking case occurred in Orangi Town, where a seven-year-old boy named Arsalan was fatally run over by a speeding water tanker.

The child had reportedly been sitting outside his home waiting for his mother when the accident took place. While the driver fled the scene, police later impounded the tanker. The incident sparked local protests demanding justice and stricter regulation of heavy vehicles in residential areas.

Another man, identified as Irfan, lost his life in a road accident on Hawksbay Road.

Authorities have expressed deep concern over the alarming rise in fatal accidents caused by speeding and heavy vehicles, urging stricter implementation of traffic rules across the city.
