HYDERABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has urged the federal government to issue a new National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.

Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Bilawal said he was witnessing the city’s rapid development for the first time, with various projects, including the Ring Road, underway. He added that Hyderabad should also have its own airport and called on the prime minister to gift this facility to the city.

He said the historic success of the 26th Amendment was not limited to a specific period but was permanent. Regarding the 27th Amendment, he termed it mere speculation, adding that he was hearing about it only from the media. He further stated that the government had not yet approached them for the 27th Amendment.

The Chairman PPP called on the federal government to immediately convene a meeting of the National Finance Commission (NFC) and issue a new NFC award, saying that we have given responsibilities to the provincial governments but the NFC award is the same.

Bilawal Bhutto said that the federal government should not put the burden of its failures on the provinces, the provinces have no fault in the failure of the FBR tax targets, it is the failure of those who run the federal government and the FBR.
