Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) being observed today

KARACHI: The Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the martyrs of Karbala is being observed across the country with traditional reverence and solemnity.

Processions featuring Alam  and Zuljinnah are being taken out nationwide, accompanied by elegies and mourning rituals to pay tribute to the martyrs.

In Karachi, the main Chehlum procession will be taken out from Nishtar Park today. Security arrangements have been finalized, with containers placed to block streets and alleys along the route on MA Jinnah Road.

The bomb disposal unit was sealed on the procession route in Karachi after a search, the main procession of Chehlum of the Martyrs of Karbala will be recovered from Nishtar Park at 1 pm.

Police officials said that more than 4,000 police personnel have been deployed for the security of the procession, section 144 is imposed in the city while mobile phone service will be partially suspended on the procession route.

In Lahore, the main procession of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA),  will be taken out from the Haveli Alif -Shah Delhi gate, while the procession will end on the traditional routes on Karbala Gamay Shah.

In Punjab, 30,000 police officers and personnel will be deployed for 382 processions and meetings, while Lahore police have completed security arrangements for Chehal Imam Hussein

More than 5,000 Lahore police personnel have been deployed on the occasion of Chehalm Imam Hussein Chehalm Imam Hussein, providing 40 security and 12th processions to the procession, while more than 400 Upper Sub -ordinates are also deployed under the supervision of 12 SPs.

In Peshawar, two processions will be recovered today in connection with the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain, strict security arrangements have been made for the processions.

The first procession will be taken out from Imambargah Akhoondabad at 3:00 pm, while the second will start from Jamia Masjid Kocha Risaldar at the same time.

A Majlis will be held at Imambargah Alamdar Karbala at 12:00 pm. The processions will pass through their designated routes and conclude at their respective Imambargahs.
