Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, paid a visit to the Luban TVET Exhibition Hall in Tianjin, highlighting the importance of strengthening technical and vocational education and training (TVET) ties between Pakistan and China. He emphasized that such cooperation is a key pillar of sustainable development and regional partnership.

During his visit, Senator Dar met with seven Pakistani students currently undergoing advanced training through the Luban Workshop Initiative. Their participation reflects the growing impact of the program on Pakistan’s youth and its role in developing a skilled workforce.

Senator Dar commended the Luban Workshops as a global benchmark for effective skills transfer and technical education. He described them as a powerful example of China’s commitment to sharing expertise and supporting human capital development in developing countries.

“TVET is vital for empowering our youth, creating jobs, and deepening bilateral ties,” he said, reaffirming Pakistan’s dedication to expanding cooperation in this field, especially under the broader China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework.

Launched in 2016 by educational authorities in Tianjin, the Luban Workshops have evolved into an international initiative, with 36 centers now operating across more than 30 countries. The program focuses on hands-on, high-level technical training designed to close skill gaps in emerging economies.
