Karachi: In a significant revelation, Additional Inspector General of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh, Azad Khan, announced during a press conference that the Indian intelligence agency “RAW” was involved in the murder of a social activist in the Matli area of Badin district on May 18.

According to Azad Khan, the murder was an escalation of a local dispute that began between May 9 and 10. RAW allegedly exploited the situation and transformed it into an act of terrorism.

He pointed out that Indian media reported the incident almost immediately after it occurred, suggesting prior knowledge of the event, further implicating RAW’s involvement.

Three main suspects Umair Asghar, Sajjad, and Shakeel have already been arrested in connection with the case.

The CTD disclosed that a RAW agent based in a Gulf country, identified as Sanjay Kumar alias “Fauji”, paid a large sum of money to a man named Salman from Sheikhupura. Salman traveled to Pakistan and met with other suspects in Hyderabad. From there, three individuals proceeded to Matli, where they carried out the murder.

Following the attack, Salman fled to Nepal via Karachi Airport. However, based on critical evidence uncovered during the investigation, the CTD arrested Arsalan on August 17 and Talha and Umair on August 22.

Authorities recovered weapons and mobile phones from the suspects. The CTD chief revealed that RAW used a separatist organization — previously linked to terrorism in Pakistan — to execute the plan.
