ISLAMABAD: Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Thursday has clarified that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) did not speak of any apology during his visit to Brussels.

Speaking to the media after an event in the federal capital, the DG ISPR stressed that those involved in the May 9 incidents, along with their facilitators and planners, must be held accountable under the law.

He further said that the Brussels event was attended by hundreds of people, many of whom took photographs with the Field Marshal.

DG ISPR clarified that the Field Marshal made no remarks about Pakistan Tehreak e Insaf(PTI) during his Brussels visit, emphasizing that May 9 is not just the Army’s case but the nation’s.

He reiterated that those directly involved in the May 9 incidents, as well as their facilitators and planners, must be held accountable under the law.

Earlier, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had said that the Pakistan Army is actively engaged in relief operations across flood-affected areas on the directives of the Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

During the briefing, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif stated that so far, assistance has been provided to over 6,000 people, with Army Aviation also participating in relief activities.

According to him, medical battalions along with teams of doctors from Combined Military Hospital (CMH) have been dispatched to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where eight army units are currently engaged in relief efforts.
