LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has forecast the 11th spell of monsoon rains to begin across the province from September 16.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, heavy rainfall is expected in most districts of Punjab from September 16 to 19.

The official added that under this spell, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Lahore, Gujrat, and Sialkot are likely to receive significant showers.

Meanwhile, rains are also likely in Narowal, Hafizabad, Okara, Sahiwal, Kasur, Sargodha and Mianwali.

Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines during the forecast period.

Spokesperson PDMA Punjab says the flow of rivers of Rawalpindi, Murree and Galiyat is likely to increase on September 18 and 19, while the rivers of major cities are feared.

Earlier,Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast chances of light rain and drizzle in different parts of Karachi on Monday.

According to the Met Office, the city is likely to remain partly cloudy and humid over the next 24 hours.

During this period, light rain or drizzle may occur at isolated locations across the metropolis.

The Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature is likely to be 31 to 33 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours.
