United Nations: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar, has held India responsible for flood devastation in Pakistan and called on the international community to endorse Pakistan’s stance against Indian water aggression.

Speaking at a key session on the Indus Waters Treaty and Pakistan’s water challenges, Asim Iftikhar highlighted that floods in Pakistan had destroyed crops and displaced thousands of people. He warned that India must not use water as a weapon.

The envoy expressed confidence that the global community would stand by Pakistan at this critical juncture.

He stressed that water security has emerged as a major challenge in today’s world, and India’s actions regarding the Indus Waters Treaty have undermined international guarantees.

He underlined that under international law, India is legally bound to share data in accordance with the Indus Waters Treaty.
