
Seven drown
KARACHI: At least seven people drowned in the Konkar stream in Gadap area after two vehicles were swept away in floodwaters.
The rescue officials confirmed that two bodies have been recovered, while search operations for the remaining victims are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visited Saadi Town via Malir Cantt to review the flood situation. During a briefing, officials informed him that the overflow from Lath Dam and Thado Dam had caused floodwaters to flow through the motorway and enter Saadi Town.
The Chief Minister Sindh met the residents of the area and issued instructions to the concerned agencies for immediate drainage.
The Chief Minister was informed that water board, rescue and cantonment board vehicles were engaged in drainage.
It is to be remembered that Karachi has been raining from last day and the Meteorological Department has shown more rainfall in the city during the next 24 hours.
