Lahore: Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has issued a sharp response to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent tweet, stating that “History has already recorded India’s humiliating defeats at the hands of Pakistan.”
In a strongly worded statement, Naqvi said, “No cricket match can erase this undeniable reality.” He added that dragging war into the domain of sports only reflects India’s helplessness and insecurity.
“India has tarnished the true spirit of sports,” said the PCB Chairman. He emphasized that sports should foster unity and peace, not be used as a tool for political point-scoring or historical revisionism.
Naqvi further remarked that PM Modi’s bitterness stems from the unforgettable and humiliating military defeat India suffered at the hands of Pakistan. “It is clear that the Indian Prime Minister still hasn’t forgotten the painful memory of that historic loss,” he said.
This fiery exchange follows Modi’s controversial remarks that appeared to blur the lines between cricket and politics, prompting a reaction from across the border.
