At least 13 people, including women and children, lost their lives and dozens were injured in two separate bus accidents in Balochistan on Thursday, police and rescue officials confirmed.
In the first incident near Zero Point in Lasbela’s Uthal area, a passenger coach collided head-on with an oncoming truck. Six people died on the spot, while 17 others sustained serious injuries.
Shortly after, another devastating crash occurred on the Hub-Winder route when a second coach overturned, resulting in seven fatalities and 16 injuries, according to Edhi rescue service first responders.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Lasbela, Atif Amir, stated that the collision brought traffic on the national highway to a complete halt. Emergency responders worked urgently to clear the scene and provide aid to the victims. The rescue operation has now concluded, and the highway has reopened.
The injured from the Hub-Winder accident, including women and children, were transferred to the Civil Hospital Trauma Centre in Karachi for medical treatment, an Edhi spokesperson reported.
