Gaza: More than 200 international activists, including Pakistan’s former senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, have reportedly been arrested by Israeli forces after their humanitarian flotilla bound for Gaza was intercepted in international waters.

According to the Pak Palestine Forum, Senator Mushtaq Ahmed , who was leading the Pakistani delegation aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla  was detained when Israeli naval forces boarded the vessel. The flotilla aimed to break the ongoing Israeli blockade of Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid.

The group said that only one vessel, an observer boat carrying delegate Syed Uzair Nizami, managed to evade capture. Nizami shared information about the interception and arrests.

Global Sumud Flotilla spokesperson Saif Abukeshek confirmed in a video update that 13 vessels were intercepted, with over 201 participants from 37 countries onboard — including activists from Spain, Italy, Türkiye, and Malaysia.

Despite the arrests, Abukeshek stated the mission is ongoing, with approximately 30 ships still navigating through the Mediterranean, determined to reach Gaza.

“They are motivated and doing everything within their power to break the siege by early morning,” he said.
