SPSC refutes media campaign, confirms suspension of officer over misconduct

The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) has issued a strong rebuttal against what it describes as a “malicious and misleading” media campaign allegedly orchestrated by Mr. Muhammad Ayoub Panhwar, Assistant Director (Recruitment), who is currently under suspension and facing a formal departmental enquiry.

In an official press release dated October 21, the Commission revealed that Mr. Panhwar is being investigated under the Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973.

Charges against him include misconduct, breach of discipline, misbehavior towards members, protocol violations, and intimidation of authority via WhatsApp messages. He also reportedly filed frivolous constitutional petitions and contempt applications against the management.

To maintain transparency, a retired senior SPSC member of BPS-22 grade has been appointed as Enquiry Officer to handle the case and recommend legal action as required.

The SPSC emphasized its commitment to accountability and fair governance, welcoming constructive criticism and responsible journalism.

However, it condemned any baseless attacks and warned individuals or entities against conducting media trials or involving officials’ families. The Commission reserved the right to pursue legal action against defamatory or malicious acts.

The statement concluded with a warning to desist from unlawful behavior, reiterating SPSC’s dedication to lawful and ethical public administration.
