The West Indies have made cricketing history by becoming the first team ever to bowl all 50 overs of a One Day International (ODI) entirely with spinners.

The two-time world champions achieved this remarkable feat during the second ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur, where they deployed five spin bowlers throughout the innings.

The spin attack featured Akeal Hosein, Roston Chase, Khary Pierre, Gudakesh Motie, and Alick Athanaze, who collectively bowled the entire 50 overs — a first in the history of ODI cricket.

This rare tactical move by the West Indies marks a new chapter in limited-overs cricket, showcasing the team’s confidence in its spin arsenal.

Earlier, Sri Lanka had come closest to this mark, bowling 44 overs of spin against the West Indies in 1996, and repeating the feat against New Zealand in 1998 and Australia in 2004.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh set a target of 214 runs for the West Indies in the second match of the three-match ODI series.
