Pakistani actor Sami Khan recently opened up about two alarming incidents during his career in which he narrowly escaped serious injuries or burns while filming.
Sami Khan recalled a tense moment from his early career while shooting a song for a film directed by actor Moammar Rana, though the project was never completed. The scene involved Sami showcasing his physique, requiring him to apply oil to his body and pose with his hand near an open flame.
However, as soon as he moved closer to the fire, the combination of the oil on his skin and the intense heat became unbearable.
Sami quickly stepped back to avoid what could have been a dangerous situation. He explained that the heat was simply too intense to endure. To make the shot possible, the makeup artist came up with a solution by spraying his hand from behind to shield it.
Despite the precaution, Sami was only able to withstand the heat for five seconds to complete the shot
Sami Khan shared another painful experience while shooting a breakup scene with actress Jana Malik. In this scene, a candle was placed on a table, and Sami suggested adding a dramatic element by placing his hand on the flame while delivering his lines.
However, the moment he touched the candle and started speaking his dialogue, his hand was burned in less than three seconds. Sami admitted it was a painful mistake, acknowledging the importance of thinking carefully before taking such risks on set.
Reflecting on these incidents, Sami Khan offered valuable advice to aspiring actors, stressing the importance of proper safety measures on set. “There is a proper way to do everything in this profession. They shouldn’t repeat the mistakes we made. It’s crucial for an actor to stay calm and composed and not get carried away by emotions during a shoot,” he said.
Sami’s candid stories highlight the significance of safety and professionalism, especially for young actors who might be tempted to take risks for dramatic effect.
