RAWALPINDI: Security forces are conducting an ongoing operation against three militants reportedly hiding inside Wana Cadet College, security sources confirmed.

The three individuals are believed to be of Afghan origin and have allegedly been receiving instructions via telephone from Afghanistan, according to officials. They are currently holed up in a building located far from the cadets’ residential area.

Authorities emphasized that the building clearance operation is being carried out with utmost skill to ensure the safety of the cadets and prevent any casualties.

The operation follows a deadly attack on November 10, when the militants rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate, destroying it and causing damage to nearby buildings. In a swift and courageous response, Pakistani Army personnel neutralized two of the attackers on the spot.

Security officials reiterated that attacks on innocent tribal children have no connection with Islam or the welfare of the people of Pakistan. The operation will continue until all remaining militants are eliminated.

Earlier, Security forces successfully foiled a terrorist attack on Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan, killing two militants and trapping three others inside the college premises, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The attack was carried out by terrorists linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij. They tried to climb the outer wall of the college, but alert security personnel quickly responded and stopped their advance.

When the attempt failed, the terrorists rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate, causing partial damage to the entrance and nearby buildings. Security forces immediately launched a counter-operation, killing two attackers while surrounding the remaining ones inside the admin block.

ISPR said the militants were in contact with their handlers in Afghanistan and aimed to recreate the tragedy of the Army Public School Peshawar to spread fear among the youth of the tribal districts.

The spokesperson stated that the presence of terrorists in Afghanistan contradicts the Taliban government’s claims. Pakistan reserves the right to take action against terrorist groups and their leadership operating from Afghan soil.

The statement reaffirmed that operations under Azm-e-Istihkam will continue until the complete eradication of terrorism. The armed forces and the people of Pakistan stand united to defeat these evil designs.
