Haldi Ceremony, Athiya Shetty wore an Antique Ivory Anarkali that took 2000 hours to Embroider

Images from their haldi ceremony, which was nothing short of a magical occasion, were recently shared by actress Athiya Shetty. Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul got married last week at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala mansion. The couple has gradually shared photos from the wedding and other rituals. For the pre-wedding festivities, Suniel Shetty’s Khandala bungalow was transformed into a marigold paradise. The interior photos from their haldi event that have surfaced online are nothing short of a carnival of yellow hues.

The actress decided to wear a gorgeous anarkali by Ritu Kumar in an ivory hue for her haldi ceremony. Her cotton anarkali features heavy gota embroidered over the neck and borders, intricate handmade gold gota work all over the suit, and an oomph factor that lends her outfit a royal vibe. She wore a gota-embroidered garara and dupatta along with her anarkali suit.

Her garment of pure cotton with intricate hand embroidery required nearly 2000 man hours to create these mango motifs by crumpling and folding the Gota by hand. She has made extensive use of gokhru gota, which are ribbons with metal strip wefts and fiber warps that are pinched at regular intervals to create a particular aesthetic.

Athiya styled her haldi look with a touch of old-world elegance, embodying the fashion trend of “less is more.” Athiya chose blush pink eyeshadow, nude pink lips, and kohl-lined eyelids for the glam choices, assisted by Simran Gidwani, the makeup artist. Athiya wore her hair open in a half-updo with flowers of jasmine, assisted by her hairstylist Reena Dutta. She finished off her look perfectly by accessorizing with mangtika, big earrings, and golden jutis.
