Sky Daily, the widow of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, has strongly denied accusations made by Ric Flair about the reason behind Hogan’s death.
Speculation around how Hogan passed away has continued for months. During an appearance on a private podcast, Flair claimed that Hogan died after taking “street drugs,” and said he had spoken to him just a day before he passed.
Speaking to private media, Sky Daily said Flair’s story is “not true at all.” “She said doctors at Morton Plant Hospital in Florida were treating Hogan and had only adjusted his medications because of a recent neck procedure.”
“Other family members said they weren’t angry with Flair because of his long friendship with Hogan, but they insisted on setting the record straight.”
“Before his death, Hogan underwent neck surgery, and reports say the damage to his phrenic nerve made his condition worse.” Flair also claimed Hogan had long-term pain issues, had many surgeries, and turned to drugs not prescribed by doctors when pain medicine was stopped — a version of events Sky Daily disputes. She also said Flair did not talk to Hogan the day before his death.
Hogan collapsed at his home in Clearwater Beach on July 24 and later died at the hospital. A medical examiner’s report obtained by the Daily Mail stated the cause of death was a heart attack. He also had a history of atrial fibrillation and leukemia.
Authorities say there is no sign of foul play, but because of Hogan’s complex medical history, the investigation has required detailed interviews and record checks.
Hogan had spoken openly in recent years about undergoing more than 25 surgeries in 10 years. Loved ones say he was trying hard to recover movement after multiple neck and back procedures. Sky Daily also previously denied rumors that Hogan was in a coma before he passed, saying his heart remained strong despite his long battle with health problems.
