
Salahuddin custodial killing: Punjab Govt seeks judicial inquiry
Govt of Punjab has requested for a judicial inquiry of the Salahuddin’s case and a FIR has been registered against police officials.
According to details, request for the judicial inquiry has been submitted to the District and Session judge.
Dr Shahbaz Gill, spokesperson for the Punjab government, said that an FIR had been registered against the SHO and three police officials.
The murder case has been registered against three officials including SHO. Meanwhile DSP and all 3 policemen have also been suspended.
Investigations of the inquiry are underway under the supervision of ASP Investigation Habib Ullah.
Later, he was captured by Rahim Yar Khan Police and died in police custody.
According to reports, police high ups took the notice of Salahuddin’s death.
They suspend the SHO and formed an investigative team to probe the matter.
Sources said the police officials tortured him during the detention in police cell.
Parents claimed their son was mentally retarded and a case should be lodged against police personnel.
The family reached Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan to find Salahuddin’s body.
