According to the details, The chief minister said that that if citizens needed to go to the hospital, only three persons will be allowed to travel in a car.

“After 12am tonight Sindh will undergo a lockdown,” he said. “People will not be allowed to venture out of their homes unnecessarily.”

Shah said that following discussions with all stakeholders, it was decided that the only way to control the virus was to curtail its spread.

He also said, “There is only one way to curtail its spread, as this virus transfers from one person to another very fast, so we need to minimise people’s interaction.”

Earlier today, The provincial government of Sindh has shared  detailed notification, which mentions that the lockdown in the province will not effect personnel of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and medical staff appointed at hospitals, among other persons.The notification states:

“There shall be a complete ban on movement of people including intercity and inter provincial travel or gatherings of any kind for social religious or any other purpose at any place public or private including all offices public or private situated within the territorial limits of province of Sindh except following:

  1.  Personnel related to Health services
  2.  Personnel related to Law enforcement agencies
  3. Advertisement
  4.  Personnel related to essential services going to their offices
  5.  Persons going out to buy groceries and medicines
  6. Necessary and unavoidable religious rites like Namaz-e-Janaza/Burial”
