Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government KP Gov decided on Friday to close all public and private educational institutions across province for half month to curb the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The decision taken during by KP Gov a cabinet session chaired by Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan.

The cabinet also decided to cancel matriculation examinations.

The participants also decided to ban official ceremonies and meeting of prisoners with their families.

Meanwhile, CM Mehmood Khan told that situation is under control and urged masses to adopt precautionary measures instead of getting worried.

Earlier Sindh government has announced to extend the school holidays till May 30 amid growing anxiety over the spread of novel coronavirus.

The decision was made during a special cabinet meting presided by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

It was also decided that these holidays would be treated as summer vacations.

The examinations of  9th and 10th grade have also been canceled.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah called on the federal government to close borders and enact stricter controls at ports of entry, especially the Karachi airport.

Up till Now, there are 21 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan.

Other provinces not taken such steps, however, Punjab declared an emergency at its hospitals.

No cases have been reported in Punjab province yet.
