
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government will contribute four rupees to every rupee donated in PM COVID-19 Relief Fund.
In his recent tweet on Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said the PM COVID-19 Relief Fund has been fixed for the deserving people who have been laid off due to the lockdown. The Prime Minister said Ehsaas data and transparency rules will apply on the payments to be made to the labourers.

On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan launched disbursement process of the Ehsaas Emergency Cash programme especially for the people who have been rendered jobless due to the coronavirus lockdown in the country. The prime minister has committed that for each rupee provided by donors, Rs4 will be committed by the government.
Media reported that cash provided for the Ehsaas programme from the PM’s Covid-19 Relief Fund. Premier Imran monitored the cash distribution process at the Ehsaas cash distribution site set up in the Pakistan Sports Complex.
On the occasion Prime Minister Imran Khan was accompanied by Sania Nishtar, his special assistant on poverty alleviation and Minister for Industries and Production Hammad Azhar.
“The government has taken different decisions to continue economic activities and has opened different sectors,” Prime Minister Imran Khan said.
Let it be known that as many as 3.4 million applications have been received through the Ehsaas Labour Portal since the Prime Minister launched it on May 2, 2020. Earlier On May 3, Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar had predicted that around 18 million people could lose their jobs in the country because of the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
