
Prime Minister Imran Khan has on Saturday ordered to further tighten the lockdown restrictions and Coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) in Lahore.
The premier chaired a session in the provincial capital to ensure special steps against COVID-19 due to rapid increase in virus cases in Punjab.
PM Imran has directed to take strict action against the SOPs violators across the province.
“People must wear masks, maintain social distancing and take other precautions at any cost. The opposition only knows one thing which is criticism but we will not panic.
“The government is facing many difficulties still the situation is under control. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is governing Punjab with a wonderful team in a good manner”, the premier added.
The Prime Minister will also chair a meeting on locust situation in the province.
The PM will also hold separate meetings with Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar and provincial ministers.
Moreover, Confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan has soared to 132,405 after 6,472 new infections recorded in last 24 hours.
According to statistics provided by the provincial health department, 48 more people lost their lives in Punjab while battling COVID-19. The total number of patients who succumbed to the virus has reached 938 in the province.
The province has so far performed 338,714 virus tests. The number of recoveries in the province stands at 17,560.
