At least Six people killed in Chilas landslide
After a lightning strike in Chilas town of Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan, a flood situation arose in Bonar Nala and a mountain landslide slipped and fell on the local population as a result of which 6 people were buried under the landslide.
The sources said, rescue operations have been launched in the affected area. According to Deputy Commissioner Qasim Ijaz, lightning struck a suburban village along the Bonar Nala of Chilas, causing flooding in the Nala and landslides fell down on locals.
According to the district administration, the landslide buried six people, including four boys and two girls.
Deputy Commissioner Qasim Ijaz said that rescue teams have reached the affected area with the help of a helicopter.
