Daniel Pearl Murder Case: Detention of accused extended for 3 months

Pakistani authorities renewed the detention orders on Wednesday for four men, involved in the murder of American Journalist Daniel Pearl.

According to the new notification, the detention of all four accused has been extended to three months.

The notification said that the four accused in the Daniel Pearl murder case will remain in custody for another three months.

The accused include Ahmed Omar Saeed, Fahad Naseem, Salman Saqib, and Sheikh Muhammad.

The four accused have been in remand under Section 11 Triple E of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The Sindh Home Department, in its notification also said that if the accused were released, they could re-create a terrorist network.

Pearl, 38, was the South Asia bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal when he was abducted in Karachi in January 2002 while researching a story on extremists.
