Karachi is still facing power crisis, as the difference between demand and supply of electricity in Karachi has reached 300 MW.
According to the details, Karachi Electric (KE) power plants are generating 1800 MW of electricity.
Whereas, private power plants are generating 300 MW and National Grid Station is generating 600 MW electricity.
The city is currently facing 6 to 8 hours of load shedding to meet the power shortfall.
North Karachi, Surjani Town, Liaquatabad, New Golimar, Orangi Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13D, Lyari and Baldia Town are the highlighted areas where the residents are currently facing severe electricity issues.
On the other hand, load shedding has lead to water crisis in Karachi.
According to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), 300 million gallons of water could not be supplied due to lack of electricity at the pumping station.Water could not be provided properly in Central and East Districts for 13 days.
Water supply operation in district west was also affected due to load shedding.
