Suspect of the motorway case confesses to crime: CM Punjab

A suspect who was wanted in the motorway robbery and gang rape case has been arrested and has confessed his involvement in the crime, the Punjab Chief Minister, Usman Buzdar tweeted on Monday.

“Suspect wanted in the motorway case, Shafqat Ali has been arrested and has confessed to the crime,” he tweeted, adding that his DNA sample has also matched.

He further said that the entire team is working hard to arrest the main suspect Abid Ali, which is expected soon.

On Tuesday last week, two men had robbed and gang-raped a woman who was traveling along with her children on the Lahore motorway. The incident had occurred when she was stranded on the motorway after her car ran out of fuel.
