The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Wednesday conducted exercises on the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway, dubbed ‘Road Runway Operations’.

According to the Director-General Public Relations (DGPR) Air force, PAF regularly undertakes Road runway operations as part of its operational preparedness plan. The exercise was aimed at preparing PAF combat crew for utilization of a vast network of highways for conducting air operations during warlike situations.

“PAF acknowledges valuable support of various civil and mil departments especially NHA, FWO and NH&MP, whose assistance played an instrumental role in the conduct of this exercise,” DGPR added.

Murad Saeed, Federal Minister for Comm & Postal Services was the Chief Guest at the occasion.

Murad Saeed while witnessing the ceremony said that Pakistan Air Force is Respected for its professionalism and is a true symbol of pride for the nation.

The exercises performed every year in Pakistan and the main purpose of doing so is to take off, re-arm and refuel aircraft in the event of any emergency on suitable level ground in addition to test the ability of the regular runways available with the Air Force.
