Islamabad Shooting Incident: Chief Commissioner forms JIT

The Chief Commissioner Islamabad on Sunday has formed a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the killing of Usama Nadeem Satti.

Usama Satti, reportedly was shot multiple times by Islamabad police at Sri Nagar Highway on Friday night.

According to the sources, the JIT will be headed by SP Sadar Zone Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk.

Whereas, one representative each from Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) will also join the JIT. DSP Ramna, DSP Investigation and SHO Ramana also included in the JIT.

The JIT was constituted by the Chief Commissioner under Section 19 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The Chief Commissioner Islamabad has directed the team to complete its investigation as soon as possible and submit a report.

Post Mortem Report

According to the released post-mortem report of Usama Satti, was shot six times, with all bullets entering from the back. He received one bullet on the back of his head, one on the left arm and four bullets on his back.

The post mortem was conducted by senior MLO Dr Farrukh Kamal and its initial report was then later handed over to the police authorities.

Earlier in the day, the federal government formed a judicial commission to investigate the harrowing murder.

A notification was issued in this regard, ordering a judicial inquiry into Saturday’s killing. Rana Waqas Anwar was appointed as Additional District Magistrate Inquiry Officer.

The Commission has been directed to submit a comprehensive report within five days after recording statements of all witnesses, relatives and police officers.
