The University of Peshawar, while accepting students’ demand; has announced to hold online examinations.

According to the details, a notification has also been issued in this regard. As per the notification, all the heads of departments, who have not conducted mid-term fall examination so far, were directed to hold the examination online.

The final-term examination would be held online subject to the concurrence of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Peshawar University students had been protesting to press the university administration to hold examinations online. They were not ready to appear in the examination physically on campus.

The students opined that their studies had been badly affected due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. According to the students, they were taught online, their exams should be arranged online as well.

Peshawar university administration was earlier silent over the students’ protests. However, on Monday, when the protesting students blocked the main Jamrud Road, the university administration came into action.

The issue was settled only when the university issued a notification to announce online examination.

They also protested at the university’s decision to charge full fees when the classes were held online.
