Abdul Hafeez Shaikh tests positive for coronavirus

Former finance minister Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh has tested positive for coronavirus.

The newly-appointed Finance Minister Hammad Azhar announced the news on Twitter. He wrote, “Just found out that Dr. Hafeez Shaikh has tested positive for Covid-19. I pray for his swift recovery and good health. Ameen.”

He is the latest politician to have contracted the novel virus.

Earlier, President Arif Alvi and Defense Minister Pervaiz Khattak also tested positive for Covid-19.
